Choosing a Weight Loss Program

There are numerous weight loss programs today which can leave the consumer a little dizzied by all the choices. In finding the right weight loss program for you, you need to consider cost, style and efficacy of the various programs available.

Cost is a major issue for some people. Some programs can be expensive yet there are two ways to look at this dilemma. First and foremost, think about what you are already spending per month at the grocery store and restaurants. If you are overweight, chances are these tickets run fairly high. Also consider what you may be spending in the years to come when medical issues due to your extra weight occur. There is a good chance you may experience loss of income in the future due to obesity related disease.

Once you have determined what the weight loss program is worth to you, price out various programs. Programs that offer one on one counseling usually run higher than programs that will take more of a group approach. There are also weight loss programs that are available commercially through the use of a book and shopping the coordinating section of the grocery store, usually found in the frozen aisle.

Next, you need to determine what style will work for you? Do you love to cook? If so, buying into a weight loss program that delivers ready-made dishes to your door may leave you feeling dissatisfied with the mealtime experience. On the flip side, for the busy person who is overweight due to grabbing something quick at the drive-through, this type of plan may really, really work for you.

Do you want counseling and help? Or are you the type to enjoy challenging yourself? A weight loss program may offer one-on-one counseling, group counseling or no counseling at all. Determining which program will work for your weight loss is highly personal.

Finally, determining the efficacy of each weight loss program is of utmost importance. Why spend the money and make the effort if you are not going to achieve the weight loss goals you desire?

Billions of dollars are spent every year in this country on weight loss efforts and the snakes looking to make a buck know it! Make sure you do not fall prey to weight loss programs that are offering a quick fix. Reputable weight loss programs use tried and true methods that not only help you lose weight, but change your lifestyle so that you can maintain the weight loss for years to come.

Steer clear of weight loss programs that drastically alter the way we should eat healthfully. There are a lot of anti-carbohydrate type programs that tout high protein and low carbohydrate as being the way to lose weight. Most of these programs are only beneficial in the beginning. Instead, look for programs that incorporate the use of "good" carbs.

Following these suggestions will help you, the consumer, choose an appropriate weight loss program that will enable you to lose weight, not money.

I recommend this new weight loss program it worked for me. Find out more at http://www.fatloss4idiotsreview.info

Weight Loss Ain't Easy!

News flash! Weight loss ain't easy! To be more grammatically correct I guess I should say, weight loss isn't easy. No matter how you say it weight loss is a tough proposition. Unfortunately, no matter where you look it is nearly impossible to find any new and practical weight loss ideas to make the job of shedding a few extra pounds any easier. There are a few things you can do to lessen the chore.

If you only need to lose 5 or 10 pounds, count yourself lucky. You are not overweight. You are probably just vain and want to look better in that swim suit this summer. But, to those of us who need to lose 20, 30 or more pounds, our chores is going to be a bit tougher.

There are many fad diets on the market that promise to give us super duper weight and fat loss. Fad diets may work on a temporary basis. Only rarely will a fad diet produce permanent weight loss. Too many times a fad diet is boring and monotonous, suggesting we only one food for each meal. Remember the grapefruit diet? This type of diet is difficult to maintain and any weight lost will rapidly return once we go back to our regular dietary habits. You should also know that some fad diets can be extremely harmful to your body. The best advice is to avoid the fads. There are safer ways to lose weight.

One of the most practical weight loss ideas I've come across in years is to just eat less. I know this sounds too easy to work but, by reducing not only the amount of food we eat but, by changing the type of food, we will lose weight. Make sure the diet chosen contains lots of green leafy vegetables, fresh fruit and lean proteins such as fish and chicken. Metabolism rates can be sped up by eating four to six smaller meals a day, rather than three large ones.

Don't forget the exercise! I told you weight loss ain't easy! You will need some regular exercise if you are going to experience any permanent weight loss. It can be as simple as a brisk 30 to 45 minute walk each day or as extensive as a full gym workouts with weights and equipment. It just has to be regular.

Say it as you will, weight loss ain't easy, weight loss isn't easy or weight loss sucks! If you are overweight you will agree with that statement to the nth degree.

When is the last time someone called you skinny? Isn't it time you fixed their little red wagon and got back into those size 8's and 10's? If you are struggling to lose weight and want to get help, real help, you will want a safe and effective plan to guide you. Check out my blog for the safest plans. Want to Lose Weight? Stop Eating Sugar!

Sugar may taste sweet but its health effects are anything but. Excessive sugar consumption throws the body's pH levels out of balance making it harder for us to lose weight and maintain good health. The sugar, and the acidity that it creates, provides an internal environment that is ripe for the overgrowth of dangerous yeasts, fungi, and bacteria.

In turn, these pathogens feed on the sugar, multiply, and expel toxic wastes that make us feel and look even worse. Because these critters feed on sugar, our body begins to crave more sugar in the form of sweets, breads, pastas, and so forth. We end up feeding these microorganisms and fuel their growth and place further toxic acid into our body.

As this vicious cycle continues not only do we feed these toxin-producing microorganisms but we also intake huge amounts of calorie-rich, nutrient void, sugar-laden foods. Over time, an excess intake of calories through sugar obviously leads to weight gain (considering everything else remains equal).

The Liver, Toxins, Acid, and Weight Loss

The other aspect of sugar that prevents weight loss is the fact that as we fuel more and more microorganisms, the toxins they expel create more acid in our blood and pose added stress on our liver.

Since excess acid in the blood will eventually be stored in fat cells, it is futile to further acidify your body if you want to lose weight. Only once you rid your body of excess acid and restore its proper pH balance will you be able to shed excess fat. If fat isn't needed to store acid, then it can more readily be metabolized.

Similarly, if your liver becomes stressed and compromised as a result of having to filter tons of toxins floating through your blood, your weight loss attempts will be in vain. This is because the liver is not only the body's major filter but it also regulates sugar and fat metabolism. If the liver is not functioning properly then its ability to metabolize sugar and fats will also be compromised. Elevated blood sugar and blood lipid levels are usually the result.

Hidden Sources of Sugar

While we typically eat a lot of sugar in the form of desserts and sugary beverages, a large portion of our sugar intake comes from hidden sources which include:

Livestock are often fed sugar prior to slaughter to improve the color and taste of the meat.

Corn syrup and molasses are often used in restaurants to prevent shrinkage of hamburgers.

Sugar is added to many mixes and roasted nuts.

Canned fish are often glazed with sugar.

Condiments such as ketchup, mustard, and relish are heavy sources of sugar. In fact, sugar is most often the first ingredients in these foods.

Most table salts contain sugar.

Most breads, pastas, and cereals contain added sugar of some sort.

So as you can see we are bombarded by sugar. The key is move away from packaged and processed foods and move towards fresh whole foods.

You're much better off eating natural sugar from fruit then chemically altered and manufactured refined sugar that you can buy from a store.

The choice is yours but if you want to lose weight then you need to make the right choice. Opt for more fresh vegetables and fruit, especially greens. Greens are one of the best sources of alkalinity and help rid your body of excess acid produced by sugar consumption.

Lose Weight Fast With the Help of Omega 3 Fatty Acids

Omega 3 fatty acids are one of the most significant dietary additions you can make to your diet. They are backed by a wellspring of clinical research detailing the various ways that they support a well functioning body. Here are just a few of the many things that Omega 3's will do for you.

  • Reduce joint inflammation
  • Increase your cardiovascular health
  • Increase brain performance
  • Help you lose weight
  • Help symptoms of mental disorders such as Bipolar, OCD, etc.
  • Help lower bad cholesterol.
  • Stimulates the production of leptin, which helps regulate your body weight and metabolism.

Omega 3 fatty acids are primarily present in meat and certain grains. There are food sources of Omega 3's but the easiest way to get them in your system is to simply take fish oil capsules or add flax seed to your food. My favorite is flax seed. Just add it to your cereal in the morning. You don't really taste it. But if you do, it has a nice, nutty flavor.

Once cautionary note about storing Omega 3's. It has a relatively short shelf life so make sure that you store it properly in a sealed container or it will go bad on you. Make sure also to buy reasonable quantities at a time. It may be tempting to buy that huge bag of flaxseed that is on sale but it will probably just go to waste. Store Your flaxseed or tablets in a sealed container in a dry, room temperature place.

Don't want to take a pill or add flaxseed to your food? No problem. Here are some great food sources of Omega 3 fatty acids:

  • Walnuts
  • Soybeans, navy beans, kidney beans
  • Tofu
  • Fish
  • Olive Oil
  • Natural, free range eggs
  • Spinach

Keep in mind that omega 3 fatty acids are now artificially added to a lot of foods, so make sure that you are on the lookout for labels that state Omega 3's are present.

Easy Diets to Lose Weight

Here are 2 easy diets to lose weight using. Warning: If you expect me to talk about low carb, low fat, eat just fruits and vegetables, or anything like that... you'd be wrong. These are easy diets without any complicated things to remember.

Easy Diet #1

This diet revolves around eggs. Eggs have the highest graded protein of all foods... and protein is needed to speed up your metabolism. This diet is really simple... eat eggs all day long. That's the main part of it. I allow you to eat as many eggs as you want as often as you want. Simple.

Now, for the sake of health, you need some variety in the other foods you'll eat along with the eggs. For that, I suggest black beans, broccoli, cauliflower, grapes, apples, and low calorie yogurts. You can also add in some meat. As you can see, this is flexible so long as you eat eggs more than once.

Easy Diet #2

This diet will revolve around eating 1 hamburger patty on a salad. This is ideal for women... for men, you may need 2 hamburger patties. So use whatever vegetables you want and then cook up a hamburger patty on the ol' George Foreman grill. Cut up the hamburger patty and mix into the salad.

Just be sure not to use conventional salad dressing. At most, perhaps use a tablespoon of salad dressing... I personally use honey mustard barbeque sauce, sour cream, or spaghetti sauce.

Use the "hamburger salad" at least twice a day.

As like the first diet, be sure to add variety around the meals and in snacks for general health... eat grapes, apples, broccoli, cauliflower, black beans, low calorie yogurts, etc.

I've found that the simpler the diet is, the easier it is for people to lose weight with. But I've also found that about 30% of people simply are too picky to limit their meals and this wouldn't work for them because it'd drive them nuts. But if you have no problem with limiting the foods you eat, these are 2 easy diets to lose weight with.

If you're sick and tired of getting the same old boring and tired weight loss advice... you know, like "Eat more fruits and vegetables, drink 8 glasses of water, exercise more, and blah blah blah"... then you found the right person. I'll make weight loss easy and enjoyable for you... AND NOT BORING! Heck, before you do anything, maybe you should try out the 2 easy diets to lose weight with mentioned above.

The Best Way to Lose Weight is to Drink This Miracle Liquid

I bet you are going to be so surprised when I say it but one of the best way to lose weight is to drink water. And no wonder... water practically makes up seventy percent of our body weight.

And I'm not talking about dehydrating yourself to death to lose water weight...

THAT would be too easy! In fact, it is true that we lose about one liter of water a day just with normal every day living. And we MUST replace this loss of water. Our bodies use the water for so many things that are vital for our survival. We can actually survive longer without food than we can without water...

However, for the purpose of this article... water is critical for fat metabolism. And our organs cannot properly metabolize fat without water. As a result... if you do not drink enough water... your body burns up less fat and you become... more fat!

Also... believe it or not... many times when you have hunger pangs... it is really a signal from your body to drink more water. You see... many times... your body can get water from foods... such as fruits or vegetables or even meat. So if you get hungry, try drinking a glass of water and see what happens for you.

In short, water is a natural appetite suppressor so drink plenty of water to remain hydrated. If you eat less foods, you will have a calorie deficit and will lose weight.

You will also find that drinking enough water throughout the day will give you more energy, allow your muscles to regain and repair itself after you workout.

And if you drink coffee, tea or alcoholic drinks... those items are called diuretics which makes you lose even more water in your body. So be sure to drink enough water all the time.

They say you should drink about six to eight glasses of water per day. But the rule of thumb is try to drink when you feel thirsty.

And this is what I would do if you get hunger pangs. Drink a glass of water. If you are still hungry after fifteen minutes... then eat some food!

Some folks don't like water. Ideally, it shouldn't have a flavor but many cities add chemicals to control bacteria in the water. Also if you live near the mountains, the water may have mineral taste. One way to flavor the water without adding additional calories is to put a wedge of lemon or lime in the cup of water. You can also drink out of a mug or colored glasses. One of my favorite ways to drink water on a cold day is to microwave it in a mug and sip the hot water while reading a good fiction book.

I also keep a bottle of water in my truck so that I have something to drink while driving around. Keep bottled water handy at the office unless you have access to clean water.

Another choice for water can be sparkling water (without sugar or fruit juices of course). If you like the fizz -- this is a good way to go without drinking soda or diet soda.

So there you go! Drinking water is one of the under-appreciated weight loss tips...

How Many Calories Can I Have And Still Lose Weight?

To figure out how many calories you should have, first start with where you are. In other words, figure out how many calories it takes to maintain your present size and then reduce from there. You can go about this in many ways. Most people simply choose an arbitrary number like 1200 calories and that's what they eat, but in nearly every case that's not nearly enough calories to ensure adequate nutrition, not to mention the deprivation that sets up.

While losing weight and to this day, I eat over 2000 calories a day on average and I've maintained a good weight for my height for over 17 years. Remember, your body requires calories to maintain itself.

Basic Calorie Requirements Calculation Based on Activity Level:

Sedentary : 13 X Weight = Avg. cal/day

Sedentary is not exercising at all

Moderately Active: 16 X Weight = Avg. cal/day

Moderately Active is exercising approximately 3-4 times per week

Very Active: 19 X Weight = Avg. cal/day

Very Active is 5-7 strenuous exercise sessions per week.

If you weigh over 200 pound now, and you'd like to weigh closer to 150, here is a calculation you could use to get started: Assuming you are going to be adding enough exercise to quality as Moderately Active, we'll use 16 as our modifier:

150 pounds X 16 calories per pound = 2400 calories

Less 500 (Using the common 500 calories per day reduction) gives us a total of 1900 average calories per day

If you started to incorporate a plan that allowed an average of 1900 calories every day, you'd start to lose weight. The mistake most people make is to reduce calories too much, which ultimately sacrifices muscle plus sets you up for feeling deprived. It's far better in the long run to go more slowly, keeping as much muscle as possible while burning calories via exercise. Remember too, even if you don't eat quite that many calories on many days, you might eat more on the weekends for instance, so it ends up being closer to your goal of 1900 average per day. Take the total calories for the week divided by seven.

Remember, this average calorie number gives you plenty of wiggle room during the week. You can have some treats along with everyone else, or add more on weekends. Instead of constantly saying, "I can't, I'm on a diet," now you can say, "Thank you, that looks delicious," and enjoy some. It doesn't ruin your diet plan because you've got a large enough calorie allowance that if you are more careful some days than others, it will work out to the average number of calories you want. I tend to eat far less calories during the week than on weekends and my totals generally average out to 2000 to 2200 calories per day.

The 500 calorie reduction is a well accepted amount. You can reduce your calories further, but I wouldn't recommend it. It doesn't benefit anyone to try for faster weight loss, in fact, if you reduce your calories too much you end up wasting muscle in the process, which is exactly what you do not want to do. If you want faster results, it's better to add more activity, thereby burning more calories at rest.

You may be thinking I'm nuts, recommending 1900 calories per day, but I can say for a fact that if you eat too little (1000 - 1200 calories is too few, IMO) then you set yourself up for all of the following:

Deprivation. You're going to feel deprived, mentally and physically. 1000 calories isn't enough for your basic metabolic needs, much less to fuel yourself for your activity needs. Add more food! Just have a bit more than you're already having, so for instance, if you are allowed 1/2 cup of vegetables is a whole cup going to ruin all your progress? I doubt it. Eat a whole cup, or go ahead and have two oranges. Fruits and vegetables are very low calorie but provide high nutrition.

Sure, some vegis and fruits are high in sugar, but it's natural sugar. I seriously doubt our planet grows any killer foods - it is more likely the food industry which has processed those foods to become nothing more than a dried powder, then add back more sugars, and chemicals so it will resemble the original product, is more harmful than a simple apple or banana?

If you are diabetic or must watch the sugars, have a small bit of protein along with the higher glycemic food, such as an ounce of cheese with your apple. Notice I said an ounce of cheese, not a slab big enough to feed a small country.

Metabolic Slow-Down Feeding yourself too few calories sets you up for metabolic slow-down. Studies have shown time and again that a heavier person can find it difficult to lose weight, even though eating very low calories, simply because their body's metabolism is burning at such a slow rate. As you probably already know exercise helps to speed up your metabolism but so does eating. That's why they say breakfast is so important, not only to fuel yourself but because it starts the metabolic furnace burning, and it continues to burn all day. If you don't eat anything until noon, you don't stoke your furnace to start burning until then either.

Has the ultra low calorie approach worked for you so far? If not, why not try something more reasonable? Tag along with a friend who doesn't have a weight problem and you'll see how sometimes they eat more, sometimes less, but on average they eat enough to fuel their body and maintain their weight.

Adding more food gives you additional eye appeal. If you split up 1000 calories over the course of an entire day you're looking at pretty skimpy portions on your plate each time you eat. I like to feel like I'm getting enough to eat and I do this by rounding out my plate with extra vegetables.

If I'm having a frozen entree for instance, I'll cook up a cup or more of frozen vegetables to add to my plate. The extra vegis really fill me up, providing the satisfaction I need, and I often have a bit extra vegetables to throw away. Is that wasting food? No, it's smart. Far better for me mentally to have extra food to toss away than to be licking the plate because I'm still hungry. I'm also not likely to start wanting something else to eat right after dinner if I'm feeling content with the amount I've eaten.

Make an effort to learn to like your food as is. Plain mixed vegetables with nothing on them are delicious. It took me awhile to stop putting butter on them, and then even quitting the Molly McButter (just chemicals and sodium). I eat them plain and yes, they are great. Nature made our fruits and vegetables naturally sweet and all those "extras" we are used to using like butter on vegetables or potatoes certainly make things taste all yummy but they also make us larger than we need to be. Those "extra" calories add up.

Slowly Make Adjustments to What or How Much You Eat

Wean yourself off adding sugar to your cold cereal. Read the label; all processed cereals contain a ridiculous amount of added sugar. There's no need to add more. My only exception is brown sugar on oatmeal. I don't sugar my cereal at all anymore but it took me awhile to make the change. Start by adding a bit less, then next week cut back a bit more until you break the habit entirely. Tiny changes make up for big results over time.

If you feed yourself well, and focus on increasing your activity, even if only a little, then you will continue to lose fat, build muscle and get more shapely, all the while increasing your metabolism so you can eat more food!

Rapid Weight Loss - Easy Tips That Work

Most people who are overweight are interested in rapid weight loss. I will share with you some tips that will help you lose weight quickly, and are safe. Many methods people use to shed pounds quickly are dangerous to your health. These are natural healthy things you can do.

First of all, you do not have to starve yourself, go on silly cabbage soup diets, drink Slim Fast or anything like that for rapid weight loss to happen. There are foods you can add to your diet that burn fat and speed up metabolism. There are also ways that you can change the amounts of food and time that you eat that will train your body to burn fat quickly.

WHAT YOU EAT

You can still eat the foods you love and lose weight very quickly. Just eat them in moderation! If you are a chocolate lover, eat 1 or 2 pieces of chocolate candy, not half the bag. Love ice cream? Switch to yogurt or fat-free ice cream. Low fat dairy products help trim inches off your waist. This is a proven fact.

Another little tip for rapid weight loss - Add apples and any other fresh fruits and vegetable to your diet. Pectin that is contained in some fruits such as apples are proven in scientific studies to help your body incinerate fat!

WHEN YOU EAT

Are you one who eats a big breakfast, big lunch and big dinner? This has always been the way most people are trained to eat. This is not effective in helping to shed those pounds fast.

What DOES work is eating smaller meals, and eating them 4 to 5 times per day. Eating smaller portions and keeping food in your body constantly is another way to increase metabolism! Alot of people quit eating much at all, and this has the opposite effect of what you want - your metabolism shuts down, and you lose no weight at all or very little.

Lose Weight Quickly - How I Lost 25 Pounds in 2 Months

Cutting calories and losing weight quickly has never really been my thing; regardless, my double chin was becoming quite apparent and it was time to lose some weight. Have you been in a situation where you know you need to make a change in your lifestyle but you didn't know where to start? I was able to lose 25 pounds in 2 months and keep it off by making three simple changes in my diet.

1. I started eating a big breakfast.

Ironic, I know. Having a big breakfast helps you stay full longer. If you are eating proper foods, a healthy breakfast might look something like,

  • 5 Egg whites + 1 egg yolk on two pieces of whole wheat toast

Or I might have,

  • Half a cup of oatmeal with a protein shake and a scoop of peanut butter

When having a large nutritious breakfast I found myself less likely to crash and binge eat later in the afternoon and evening.

2. Replacing simple carbohydrates with green carbohydrates.

A great green carbohydrate is spinach, not only is it high in vitamins and minerals, it is low in calories. One cup is just seven calories. Having two cups of pasta, the calories and carbohydrates add up quickly, however, having two cups of spinach is virtually nothing. Spinach salad makes for a fantastic lunch. Just chop up a boneless skinless chicken breast and toss it on top of a bed of spinach, add some low fat dressing and your done. A healthy meal that only takes 10 minutes to make.

3. Only protein after 8pm.

Since your body stores excess carbohydrates that it doesn't use as fat, it's best to have the bulk of your carbohydrates at breakfast and post workout. Towards the end of the night you want to taper off the carbohydrates and stick to high protein, low carbohydrate foods and drinks.

A high protein snack before bed may include a couple glasses of milk, protein shake, yogurt or cottage cheese.

Cottage cheese is an excellent source of protein, if you can stand the taste. If you can't, try adding some flavored yogurt to it. Sounds weird doesn't it? Try it.

With cottage cheese you are getting a casein based protein which is slower digesting than whey protein. Providing on average 16 grams of protein per half cup with a little over 100 calories, it is the perfect pre bed snack.

Often you tend to get hungry at night, that is when binge eating starts. You go for anything you can get your hands on and don't stop until the bag is empty. If you know you are going to be up for a little longer have some peanut butter or some kind of healthy fat source. Healthy fats are great for you and they are the most filling compared to carbohydrates or protein. Fat is calorie dense, 9 calories per gram. Keep that in mind.

Controlling calories at night time had a major impact on my success as far as losing weight quickly goes.

These three small changes in my diet helped me drop from 205 pounds to a lean 180 pounds in just 2 months.

Weight Loss This Summer

What I found was amazing! Literally hundreds upon hundreds of guides on how to lose weight. Most charged a hefty price to even download them before you got to see how good they were. I bought a couple purely out of curiosity and started reading them. Wow! They were ridiculous. The first one that I bought told me simply to stop eating for 4 days and just drink water. Now if that is not bad for your health I don't know what is! The next was slightly less ridiculous but equally stupid as it told me to eat only meat with no fat. It made no mention of fruit, veg or any carbs. Balanced diet? I think not...

I actually got quite angry that these scammers were making people buy this rubbish. Poor consumers like us who just wanted to shed a few pounds for the summer were being forced to fork out for guides that were both insulting and absolute rubbish.

I signed up to a weight loss forum to see if there were any real guides out there that could genuinely help me lose weight. I was specifically looking for summer weight loss programs. I got a good number of helpful answers but of course along with these were the scammers telling me to buy their product. I went with the people who sounded the most genuine. I told myself that I would buy just two more guides and decided to purchase the two guides that were talked about the most.

Quite simply my mood was turned upside down again. I went from hating the whole internet weight loss industry to having more than a glimmer of hope. After reading the new guides I was amazed. Here were two strategies that were effortless, safe and actually worked. The huge number of testimonials praising both of them pay tribute to how great these programs are.

If you are looking to lose weight this summer please don't buy into all the hundreds of scams. Don't waste your money like me. If you truly want to spend a few dollars to lose a few pounds only use the guides at the link below this article. Good luck and I would love to hear from you when you get that perfect summer body you want!

Vitamin B12 Injections For Weight Loss

It is best to tackle the problem of being over weight before things get out of control and the problem at hands turns into obesity. In a bid to achieve this, very true to natural tendency, what most people try to do is lose weight without any exertion or physical exercise. Starting with the awesome weight loss vibrators and sauna belts advertised on the television to herbal powders and Vitamin B12 injections for weight loss, the list is indeed a long one.

Vitamin B12 is also called Cobalamine, and is one of the eight water-soluble B vitamins. All of these B vitamins help the body in converting carbohydrates into glucose or sugar, which is burned in order to produce energy for the functioning of the body. These are often referred to as B complex vitamins, and are also essential for the breakdown of fats and proteins. These also help maintain muscle tone, protect the mucus lining in the digestive tract and mouth, and upkeep good health of the nervous system and organs like the liver, skin, hair and eyes. The other important function of Vitamin B12 is very similar to other B complex vitamins; Cobalamine is considered to be an excellent anti-stress vitamin since it is believed to enhance the healthy functioning of the immune system and improves the bodys ability to fight stressful conditions.

Keeping these properties in mind, the possible role it could play in helping the cause of weight loss programs has been noticed and implemented. Providing Vitamin B12 injections for weight loss is a common practice as part of proprietary weight-reducing programs at several weight loss clinics. Vitamin B12 and/or Vitamin B6 injections gives extra doses of these vitamins which has been found to frequently improve energy levels, general well-being, supports thyroid functions, boosts the right cardiac output by reducing water retention owing to its diuretic attributes.

As is the case with any drug, over doses of these vitamins can cause serious health threats and hence extreme caution must be exercised while using these. It may seem heavy on the wallet but these B12 shots must be taken under medical supervision to avoid serious complications. Some of these are panic attacks, mood swings, erratic blood sugar levels, joint pains, muscle cramps, etc.

As a rule, only those suffering from a diseased condition called Pernicious Anemia and a few other problems related to digestive disorders should ideally be treated with B12 shots. Vitamin B12 injections for weight loss is condemned by most parts of the medical fraternity, especially since there are no proven facts that indicate that these shots help in weigh reduction. Apart from the energy boosts which may help the otherwise lethargic over weight individual, concrete benefits of using this as a method to attain weight loss is yet to be proven. Always remember that hard work and sweat always pays when it comes to losing weight and it might be well worth the effort to invest time and effort into a healthy diet and exercise regimen than to opt for Vitamin B12 injections for weight loss.
